Richard Herrara-Lopez, Manager Meet Richard Hererra-Lopez, our dining room manager and the first friendly face you see at Jojo. Richard made his debut with us in August, 2001, and he's been a wonderful presence at Jojo ever since.Richards genuine love for his work is obvious to all who come in our doors. But that comes as no surprise to anyone who has followed his professional journey. An adventure that began at age 21 when he took a job bussing at Henrys Restaurant in his home town of Carlsbad California. From Henrys he went on to the El Bizcocho Room in Rancho Bernardino, Top O' the Cove in sun-kissed La Jolla, and Vals in Los Angeles, where he served as Captain and Wine Steward. Following a Dionysian Muse, Richard eventually left Vals to sell wine at the prestigious Beverly Hills Wine Merchant in Beverly Hills. After deciding that his heart really belonged in the front of the house, and not behind a counter, Richard did a brief turn at Babylon in West Hollywood, before moving to the beautiful Bay Area to study music at U.C. Berkeley. Since moving north, Richard has worked at some of the Bay Area's finest restaurants, including Chez Michel, Azie, and Fleur de Lys prior to his arrival at Jojo. Like a fine wine or a beautifully crafted piece of music, Richard adds a wonderful dimension to our dining room experience. A talented musician who plays guitar and keyboards, Richard also maintains an active music career. Since 1990, he has enjoyed a very exciting second life recording and producing music at the world famous Sunset Sound Studio in Hollywood. A wonderful man with a wonderful joir de vivre, Richard enjoys film, tennis, skiing, good food and wine and a good laugh. We know you will enjoy him as much as we do. His favorite quote is from Shakespeare's Henry VIII, "Good company, good wine, good welcome, can make good people." close window |
